4 Smart Tips on Creating a Better Flow in Your Home

According to Houzz.com, a well-designed space is much like a good pair of shoes. If you’re wearing a good pair, you won’t even notice that you have them on your feet. Wearing a bad pair on the other hand, will make you notice them every single time.

From your entry doors in Tucson to your rooms, how is your interior set up? Does your existing design make moving from one area to another more efficient? To create a better flow in your home, consider the following tips from your home improvement experts, Dreamstyle Remodeling:

1.    Install the Right Furniture for Your Living Area

If your present challenge is related to space, then it’s best to avoid having any fixture that has sharp edges. One simple way to make the most of the available space in your living room, while maintaining a good room circulation is to use round furniture. As round coffee table, chairs, and/or sofa bed are advisable.

2.    Set Proper Spacing in Your Kitchen

When designing your kitchen, it’s important to provide enough space from the counter to the kitchen island. Houzz recommends a distance of at least 42 inches for easy back and forth movement in between these areas. Make sure there’s sufficient circulation space between your dining table and the island seating for optimal flow.

3.    Use Alternative Furniture in Your Bathroom

Consider exchanging your typical door for a pocket door to get more space in your bathroom. Pocket doors are great alternatives if you want to save more space or to improve the efficiency of your bath area. Another way to create a smooth flow in your bathroom is by installing a sliding glass shower door. This way, you won’t have to worry about your swinging doors hitting anything.

4.    Remove Obstruction in Your Bedroom

One great way to use space in your bedroom is by installing a shelf to store your stuff. This will keep your room tidy while adding function in your room. Another way to create better flow is by removing any obstruction, such as unnecessary furniture. Avoid banging into a corner at night by leaving enough room on both sides of your bed.
